Founder & Principal Engineer, Integrated Water Process

“Slow is smooth, smooth is fast” – US Special Forces

Brad Hull is an Ohio-licensed professional Water Engineer and the founder of Integrated Water Process, bringing more than 15 years of engineering, design, and technical expertise to commercial and industrial water process applications.

While his practice is deeply rooted in the commercial cultivation and controlled environment agriculture (CEA) industry, Brad and his team serve a broad range of clients such as food producers and processors, other industrial water processes, and environmentally-focused clients who need customized, specialty, and often third-party services and solutions to ensure premium water quality.

Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, he leads Integrated Water Process with one core mission: simplifying water management so clients can focus on what they do best.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Wright State University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati. He earned his Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Thermal and Fluids Systems in 2018 and began his engineering practice to solve real-world water challenges.

“Brad is very knowledgeable about all cultivation processes, which makes working with him and the team very easy.”
— Josh Malman, National Cultivation Director

A Career Built in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA)

Before founding Integrated Water Process, Brad spent more than six years at Rough Brothers, Inc., (now Prospiant) one of North America’s leading greenhouse design-build contractors. He served as design, project management, and CEA Systems Engineering Manager. There, he directed the design, engineering, and construction of commercial greenhouse facilities across the United States, overseeing more than $20 million in CEA contracts. He advised cultivators on the technical design and execution of complex systems, including structural, HVAC, horticultural lighting, water treatment, irrigation, and integrated environmental controls, developing the deep, hands-on fluency in commercial water systems that defines his practice today.

“Plans are worthless, but planning is everything.” – Dwight D Eisenhower

Total Water Management for Growers and other Industries

At Integrated Water Process, Brad applies a holistic “Total Water Management” philosophy to every engagement with commercial cultivators and professional horticulturalists. From initial planning and system design through installation, commissioning, water testing and analysis, and ongoing maintenance, he provides end-to-end water engineering solutions tailored to the specific demands of large-scale hydroponic operations.

His technical focus spans the full water process ecosystem: precision irrigation and fertigation systems, pumping and metering, advanced filtration and water treatment, oxygen enrichment via nanobubble technology, water reclamation and recovery, and water quality compliance.

This integrated approach helps commercial cultivators improve crop quality & yields, reduce water-borne risks, and eliminate water-related waste: the three pillars of operational water health in any large-scale CEA facility.

“Brad has been a helpful resource when it comes to troubleshooting and maintenance of our irrigation systems.”
— Mark Sorace, Site Cultivation Lead

Water Engineering Beyond Cultivation

Brad’s engineering expertise is not limited to the agriculture sector. Integrated Water Process also serves commercial and industrial clients who require professional water engineering support outside of cultivation, from water system design and installation to troubleshooting, testing, and process optimization.

Whether the challenge involves fluid handling, pumping systems, water treatment, or system commissioning, Brad brings the same licensed engineering rigor and practical problem-solving approach that growers rely on to clients across a wider range of water process applications.

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” – Leonardo da Vinci

Engineering at the Frontier of Innovation

Brad’s commitment to technical innovation extends beyond client projects. An embedded systems enthusiast, he develops custom firmware and DIY printed circuit board (PCB) solutions written in C and C++ for precision agriculture applications, including a 16-bit ADC digital lysimeter for precision irrigation, a pump controller with pressure transmitter feedback, and a valve controller built on a precision real-time clock. These projects reflect a broader drive to close the gap between off-the-shelf solutions and the precise, data-driven demands of modern commercial cultivation.

Why Clients Choose Brad

Commercial cultivators and industrial clients across the United States trust Integrated Water Process because of Brad’s rare combination of licensed engineering credentials, deep CEA industry experience, and a practical, client-first approach to problem-solving. He is consistently recognized for his ability to translate complex water engineering challenges into clear, actionable solutions — and for staying engaged long after the initial design is complete.
